NEWBERRY – Following a week off after defeating Catawba 19-13 on the road last Saturday, the No. 9 Newberry College men's lacrosse team will play host to No. 1 Limestone tomorrow at Setzler Field in a South Atlantic Conference clash. Faceoff is scheduled for 4 p.m.

Scouting the Wolves:
• Newberry (7-1, 2-1 SAC) beat Catawba 19-13 last Saturday to end the week with a 1-1 record after falling to then-No. 8 Wingate 11-9 at home last Wednesday.
• The Wolves took some time to get going against the Indians, but poured in 15 goals in the second half en route to victory.
•
Scott Reed had six goals and five assists to lead Newberry. It was the fifth game this season Reed has scored six or more times, and the second game he's registered 11 or more points (12 against Lynn).

Curtis Bukta had three goals for the second straight game, and
Jimmy Osorio and
Baker Westmoreland also added a trio of goals each.

Zach Thompson's 23 assists through eight games has him second in the conference and third in Division II.
Scouting the Saints:
• Limestone (10-0, 4-0) won most recently at home versus Flagler 24-11 last Saturday.
• Zachary Terry – who leads the SAC with 42 goals this season – had five against the opposing Saints along with one assist.
• Austin Lamoureux added three goals, and four others had two apiece. In all, 14 Limestone players recorded a goal in the game.
• Attackman Jason Thomfohrde is second on the team in goals (19) and points (28).
• The Saints have beaten three ranked opponents in 2024 (No. 15 Florida Southern, No. 19 Lander and No. 1 Lenoir-Rhyne). Their other three SAC wins were against Coker (20-6), Lincoln Memorial (15-9) and Tusculum (20-7) – the latter two coming on the road.
