NEWBERRY – The sixth-ranked Newberry College men's lacrosse team will look to bounce back after enduring its first loss of 2024 on Wednesday night as they visit Catawba for a SAC matchup tomorrow (March 16). Faceoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.

Scouting the Wolves:
• Newberry (6-1, 1-1 SAC) lost 11-9 to Wingate at home earlier this week.
•
Curtis Bukta led the pack with three goals and two assists in the game.
•
Jimmy Osorio had two goals and four other Wolves scored once.
• Defensively,
David Squires had a caused turnover and four ground balls, and
Brock Strong and
Jack Travassos also grabbed four ground balls.
• After converting on two of three man-up chances versus the Bulldogs, Newberry is now 26 for 27 on the man advantage (.963) and still leads Division II in the category.
Scouting the Indians:
• Catawba (5-3, 2-1 SAC) lost its most recent game on the road against Coker, 11-10.
• Three Catawba players scored twice against the Cobras: Gabriel Barker, Garrett Simi and Tanner Stout.
• Frank Cetrone leads the Indians with 15 goals this season and Barker is tied for second most (12).
• In a tie with Barker with 12 goals is Peyton Turner. Turner's 14 assists have him leading the team in points (26).
• The Indians' two conference wins were over Tusculum back on Feb. 24 (18-5), and against Mars Hill last Saturday (13-7); both games were contested at home.
