NEWBERRY – With a perfect 6-0 record on the line, the No. 6 Newberry College men's lacrosse team will aim for a program-record 7-0 start to the 2024 campaign as they host No. 8 Wingate at Setzler Field tomorrow (March 13). Faceoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Scouting the Wolves:
• Newberry (6-0, 1-0 SAC) is coming off a 14-9 home win over then-No. 6 Indianapolis on Saturday afternoon.
•
Scott Reed continued his impressive play with six goals on seven shots and added an assist. Reed leads the conference with 32 goals and 42 points, which places him fifth and in a tie for first in Division II, respectively.
•
Zach Thompson had a goal and two assists to give him 30 points on the season – fifth in the conference.
• Defensively,
Brock Strong caused three turnovers, grabbed two ground balls and also scored a goal for the second time this year.
• The Wolves scored three man-up goals against UIndy to give them 24 goals on 24 attempts to lead DII in the category.
Scouting the Bulldogs:
• Wingate (4-2, 0-0 SAC) comes into tomorrow's matchup after narrowly losing to No. 4 Tampa 11-10 in double overtime in Charlotte on Saturday.
• Jaxon Grant scored four of Wingate's goals in the loss.
• Sean Clark added a pair of scores for the Bulldogs; Clark leads the team with 18 goals this season.
• Willie Grieco's 34 points on 12 goals and 22 assists leads the team and is tied for second in the SAC.
• The Bulldogs' other loss this season came at the hands of then-No. 13 Florida Southern in the season-opener, 8-7. Wingate owns wins over Mercyhurst (13-6), who was ranked sixth at the time, and then-No. 18 Maryville (14-13).
