NEWBERRY, S.C.- The Wolves (8-18, 6-12 SAC) battled but fell to the Railsplitters of Lincoln Memorial (17-7, 12-6 SAC) this afternoon 80-68.
Caylin Moment posted a new season high of 14 points and five rebounds against Lincoln Memorial.
Chloe Andrew and
Deshona Gaither both added 11 points for the Wolves.
Ella Pearson led the pack with six rebounds,
Payton Cronen with five, and
Jess Tomkins with four.
The Wolves bench continues to outscore their opponents, outscoring the Railsplitters 36-18.
Newberry had a slow start in the beginning of the first quarter then shortened the Railsplitters lead to 15-14 going into the second quarter.
The Wolves started the second quarter with a 4-0 run to take the lead 18-15. Lincoln Memorial then answered with a three pointer to regain the lead. The two teams continued to battle until the Railsplitters took the second quarter 36-26.
Newberry outscored the Railsplitters 21-18 in the third quarter. The Wolves went on a 6-0 run in the end of the third to shorten Lincoln Memorial's lead 54-47.
The Wolves continued to battle until the Railsplitters took the game 80-68.
