WINGATE, N.C.- The Wolves (7-16, 5-10 SAC) fell in a tough battle against the Bulldogs of Wingate (16-8, 11-5 SAC) this evening on the road 83-59.
The Wolves came out hot in the first quarter gaining an early lead and holding it until the Bulldogs gained the lead with 1:03 remaining in the first quarter.
The Wolves three-point percentage in the first quarter was 66.7% to the Bulldogs 40%.
The Wolves field goal percentage was 80% to the Bulldogs 56.25% in the first quarter.
It was a back-and-forth battle between the two teams in the second quarter, the Wolves added six points to the board with 21 seconds left to end the second quarter four points behind the Bulldogs 38-34.
The Wolves stayed with the Bulldogs in the third quarter holding them to 18 points and the Wolves scored 14.
The Wolves battled with the Bulldogs staying within eight points through three quarters making it a close game.
Julia Paoletta led the pack with 11 points, Deshona Gaither with 10 points, and Chloe Andrew with nine points.
April Rummery-Lamb led the Wolves with seven rebounds, behind her was Ella Pearson with six.
