Behind a stellar performance by Drew Robinson, who scored a game-high 27 points including seven three-pointers, Newberry put on an offensive clinic to secure a 98-91 victory over Mars Hill. The Wolves improved to 4-3 overall and 1-2 in SAC play.
Drake Downs posted an impressive double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds, with efficient 7-of-9 shooting.
Devario Sheppard contributed 17 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 steals, contributing on both ends of the floor.
Newberry owned the boards with a 44-25 rebounding difference, including 17 offensive rebounds that led to 14 second-chance points.
Posting up big against the Lions, the Wolves controlled the paint outsourcing Mars Hill 48-36.
Newberry hit 10-of-22 three-pointers (45.5%), led by Robinson's sharpshooting.
The Wolves tallied 18 assists as a team, with five different players recording multiple assists.
A 14-4 run to open the second the second half, capped by a three-pointer from Robinson, gave Newberry a commanding lead they would hold on to until the end.
