Wise, VA- In a tough battle on the court, the Newberry Wolves showed their resilience but were defeated by the UVA Cavaliers with a final score of 72-59. Despite the loss, the Wolves kept the game competitive throughout, pushing UVA to work for every basket.
Newberry's offense was led by
Booker Cusaac, who posted a double-double with 17 points and 13 boards, and
James Lovorn, who chipped in 16 points and 3 dimes. Despite being down by just six at the break, the Wolves had several flashes of brilliance on both ends of the floor.

Devario Sheppard teamed up for a total of 15 points and 8 boards.
Drew Robinson also made an impact, grabbing 9 rebounds and adding 5 points

Newberry executed well at the free-throw line, converting more than 64% of their attempts. Although their field goal and three-point shooting were off, their relentless effort and hustle kept them in the game. They racked up 13 points on second-chance opportunities and 15 points off turnovers.
