Limestone scored 35 consecutive points to outlast Newberry (3-5, 3-3) 35-14 at Setzler Field.
Third-string quarterback
Ja'Corey Martin moved from his starting wide receiver spot to lead the Wolves offense in the second half with 109 yards on 13 carries including a 42-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. He also completed three passes for 39 yards.
Martin played quarterback at Greenville Southside Christian in Simpsonville.
Newberry ran for 190 yards to 150 for Limestone, but the Saints accounted for 290 yards passing and three scores while the Wolves could muster just 67 yards through  the air.
The Wolves grabbed an early lead thanks to a turnover and an effective drive on offense.
On their first possession of the game Limestone drove to the Wolves 34-yard line, but
KeSean Glover intercepted a Dustin Noller pass and returned it to the Newberry 48-yard line.
Five plays later the Wolves were in the end zone capped by a 16-yard run by
Dwayne Wright. Wright also had a similar 16-yard run to start the drive sandwiched in between two completed passes by starting quarterback
Reed Charpia to
Tommy Washington (14 yards) and
Keith Desaussure (4 yards).
The Saints responded quickly with a scoring drive of their own, covering 54 yards on four plays to tie the score at 7-7.
Midway through the second quarter, Charpia was sacked at the Newberry two-yard line and was injured on the play. He did not return the remainder of the game.
True freshman quarterback
Coleman Gray entered the game before being replaced by Martin in the third quarter.
After a punt, Limestone had another short field and drove 49 yards in 10 plays to grab a 14-7 lead with four minutes left in the half.
After another Newberry punt, the Saints put together a drive that covered 80 yards in just four plays that took just over a minute to grab a 21-7 lead heading into halftime.
The Wolves outgained the Saints 64-56 on the ground in the first half, but Limestone had 172 yards passing to just 28 for Newberry.
Limestone scored on its first two possessions of the third quarter to increase the lead to 35-7.
Dwayne Wright finished the game with 50 yards on 10 carries, Rico Dorsey, Jr. had three catches for 23 yards.

Charles Smith all had six tackles to lead the Wolves' defense.Â
