NEWBERRY, SC – Newberry led the first quarter, ending with a 14-10 advantage, showing some early dominance and effective scoring.
 

Throughout the game, Newberry struggled with ball control, committing a total of 28 turnovers, allowing Augusta to capitalize on fast breaks.

Jess Tomkins led Newberry in scoring with 10 points with 5-8 shooting, also adding defensively with a steal and six rebounds.

Augusta responded in the second quarter, outscoring Newberry 20-6, giving Augusta a 10 point lead at halftime.

Augusta dominated the boards, grabbing 48 rebounds with 22 offensive, compared to the Wolves' 28.

Augusta extended their lead further in the third quarter by outscoring Newberry 16-6.

The Wolves struggled with shooting beyond the key, hitting only 2 of 16 three-pointers.

Augusta ultimately secured the victory, finishing with a 61-34 win over Newberry.

Despite the loss, Newberry showed defensive tenacity with 11 steals, pressuring Augusta throughout the game.

The Wolves will face off against Georgia College on the road in their next match on November, 16th at 5:30pm.
