Preview: Wolves Continue SAC Play at Carson-Newman

NEWBERRY – The Newberry College men's basketball team will look to get back in the win column tomorrow (Jan. 6) on the road against Carson-Newman as they continue South Atlantic Conference play. Tipoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. in Jefferson City, Tennessee.

Scouting the Wolves:
•    Newberry (2-8, 1-4 SAC) is coming off a loss to Wingate on Wednesday night.
•    James Lovorn scored a season-high 19 points for the Wolves against the Bulldogs, shooting 5 of 10 from 3-point range and 6 of 12 overall.
•    Malik Joseph added 16 points and a season-high nine rebounds in the game.
•    Booker Cusaac's four Bulldog blocks raised his season average to 1.6 per game – second overall in the conference.

Scouting the Eagles:
•    Carson-Newman (9-3, 2-2 SAC) lost a road game to No. 22 Lincoln Memorial on Wednesday night, 83-64; the Eagles had won four straight prior to the loss.
•    The Eagles have four players averaging double figures: John Zhao (19.3 points per game); Nick Brenegan (17.1); Jack Browder (16.3); and Trey Hubbard (15.9).
•    Hubbard scored 20 in the losing effort to the Railsplitters and Browder had 18.
•    Collectively, C-N is first in the SAC in 3-point shooting (44.3%); second in field goal percentage (50.6%); and second in scoring (91.4 points per game).
