NEWBERRY, S.C.- The Wolves took down the Lions to win their second straight conference contest in Eleazer Arena this evening 66-58.
April Rummery-Lamb posted a career-high double-double of 33 points, 18 boards against the Lions. She also had a career high of 15 field goals made this evening for the Wolves. Rummery-Lamb shot a 71.4 field goal percentage.
Deshona Gaither posted a career-high of three blocks while also scoring 14 points and tagging eight rebounds.
The Wolves and the Lions were neck and neck through the first quarter where the Lions ended the quarter 15-13. Both teams battled and traded points in the second quarter all the way until halftime where Rummery-Lamb tagged a layup with .6 seconds left to tie the game to go into the second half.
In the third quarter the Wolves came out hot, Rummery-Lamb scored six points in a row to put the Wolves ahead 39-33 and force a Lions timeout. The Wolves outscored the Lions 23- 14 in the third quarter and Rummery-Lamb finished the quarter with a hook shot to make the score 51-42.
The Wolves held their lead throughout the fourth quarter to finish strong 66-58.
