NEWBERRY, S.C.- The Wolves volleyball team swept the Cavaliers of UVA Wise in three sets this evening in Eleazer Arena.
The Wolves gained momentum early on by getting ahead of the Cavaliers early in the first set. The Wolves dominated offensively throughout the match with their hitting percentage being .205% and the Cavaliers being .133%. The Cavaliers were unable to keep up with the Wolves lead and fell in the first set 25-17.
The Cavaliers did not give up in the second set, going point for point till the end. The Wolves did not give up and kept fighting until they came out on top with the help of Samantha Shaffer to finish the second set 25-23.
Anna Schneider led the pack offensively matching her career and season best with 13 kills for the match. Shaffer was right behind her with 12 kills. Margaret McMahon led the team with three blocks, Madison Watson and Shaffer with two. Annie Dill led with 38 assists, and Kannyn Boyd led with 14 digs.
Olivia Bradley, who was chosen as player of the match by Coach Kiko tagged on 11 digs this evening.
