SALISBURY, N.C.- The Wolves volleyball squad fell to Catawba in a five-set thriller Tuesday evening.
The Wolves started strong, taking the lead in the first set and keeping the momentum going by dominating offensively with a hitting percentage of .241 compared to Catawba's .086. Newberry was able to keep the fire going on to take the second set from Catawba.
The Wolves jumped into an early lead in the third set taking the first five points with the help of a couple service aces from Annie Dill, and keeping at least a four point lead up until Catawba fought back to take the third set 25-23.
Freshman Anna Schneider led the Wolves offense with 13 kills and 11 digs. Kannyn Boyd led the pack with 29 digs. Dill led with 36 assists and led with two service aces. Madison Watson led the team with five blocks for the evening.
