Salisbury, N.C.- The Newberry College women's soccer team drops their first conference match to #4 ranked Catawba 7-0 on Wednesday night in their South Atlantic Conference Opener.
Providing a valiant effort in goal, freshman
Sarah Waller finished the day tallying 8 saves on 15 shots. At the seven minute mark. Waller faced her first penalty kick of her career in which she thwarted Catawba of their first goal of the match.
Offensively, the wolves had no luck finding the goal, only seeing a handful of shots from
Jaidyn Jacobs,
Kelsey Brustuen and
Ella McDevitt.
The women looked to rebound back home against Emory & Henry as they continue their conference play this Saturday at 5 PM.
