Wolves Volleyball Falls in Day Two at Mount Olive

MOUNT OLIVE, N.C.- The Wolves finished the weekend in the Mount Olive Tournament 0-2, falling to the University of Mount Olive in four sets and West Virginia State University in three sets.
 
Match One
The Wolves fall to the Trojans of Mount Olive in four sets. The Wolves battled in the second set keeping it close but falling 26-25, then came back and won the third set but could not keep the momentum in the fourth set. Margaret McMahon and Samantha Shaffer both led the team in kills with 9 and Kate Brown with 7. Kannyn Boyd led the team in service aces with 2 and digs with 27. Annie Dill led with 33 assists. McMahon led the team in blocks with 3, right behind were Lindsey Green and Shaffer both with 2.
 
Match Two
The Wolves fall to the Yellow Jackets of West Virginia State University after a hard fought three sets. The second and third sets were close in score, but the Wolves struggled to come out on top. Samantha Shaffer led the team in kills with 9, right behind was Taylor Hall with 8, and Kate Brown with 6. Annie Dill led the team with 8 digs, Olivia Bradley and Hall with 6.

Senior Outside Hitter, Taylor Hall, was voted by coaches at the tournament for All-Tournament Team. Hall totaled 37 kills, 4 service aces, and 35 digs for the tournament.

The Wolves will be back at home in Eleazer Arena for a conference match next Tuesday (Sept. 12) against Lenoir-Rhyne University starting at 6:00 p.m. (EST).
