NEWBERRY – The Newberry College women's cross country team begins its 2023 season this Friday (Sept. 1) in-state at the Charleston Southern Buccaneer Invitational.
The Wolves, who were picked 10th in the South Atlantic Conference preseason coaches' poll, boast five returners and six newcomers to the fold.
Captains
Ahja Amos (senior) and
Allison McCauley (junior) will be joined once more by
Alaya Lindquist (senior),
Kenya King (junior) and
Abigail Grooms (sophomore).
All six of the newest Wolves are freshmen:
Sage Bowen,
Haley Culver,
Grace Jellow,
Josie Langtry,
Kwamia Russell and
Jade Weber.
The women's race kicks off at 9:45 a.m. on the 4K course on the campus of Charleston Southern.
