ANDERSON, S.C. – Making headway on the individual side of the leader board, the Newberry College women's golf team sit alone in sixth place after the second day of action a the 2023 South Atlantic Conference Championships at Cobbs Glenn Golf Club in Anderson, S.C.
The Trojans, this year's host, continues to lead the tournament as they sit -5 after two complete rounds with the next closest team posting a +25 scorecard. The Wolves sit a +47 after two days but are well within the hunt of a top-3 finish.
Freshman Nicole Strydom (Boksburg, Z.A.) continues to lead the way for the Wolves as she followed up yesterday's round of 74 with a 77 today to sit in a tie or 12th overall in the tournament. Freshman Noelia Adkins (Bristol, Tenn.) mad the largest improvement today as she carded a 76 on the day, five strokes better than yesterday as she moved up to a tie for 26th.
Sophomore Ida Hansen (Oerebro, Sweden) shot just one stroke more than her opening round with an 80 in the second round to sit in a tie for 31st after Monday's action. Fellow sophomore Julia Järvholm finished the day tied for 36th after sitting +16 over the first two rounds. Junior Sofia Liden (Uppsala, Sweden) sits tied for 39th as she sits +18 after the second round.
Final round action of the SAC Championships kicks off tomorrow morning at 8:30 a.m. as a SAC Champion will be crowned at the end of the day.
