Currently sitting at 10-1 overall with a 4-0 record in South Atlantic Conference action, the Trojans are ranked No. 12 in the Inside Lacrosse Division II Poll. In their most recent game against Catawba on Saturday, Anderson scored six goals in each half en route to a 12-8 victory. Matthew Rodgers, Radyn Badraun and Garrett Hawkins each tallied three-goal hat tricks for the Trojans in the game. Rodgers' 39 goals this season lead the team and account for the second-most in the SAC, while Badraun's 37 are right behind him. Anderson's potent offense will present a challenge for Newberry as they lead the conference in both goals (194) and assists (119).
Scouting the Wolves: No. 18 Newberry (5-4, 1-3 SAC) is coming off an 11-day respite from game action, its last outing coming on March 18 in Limestone. In that narrow, 13-11 defeat, the Wolves were led by
Briley Maxwell's (Edmonton, Alberta, Canada) career-best five-goal performance.
Scott Reed (Ontario, Canada) and
Curtis Bukta (Ontario, Canada) added two apiece, while
James Osorio (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) and
Owen Harrison (Apex, N.C.) scored the other goals for the Wolves. Reed's 27 goals tie him for sixth in the conference. As a team, Newberry sits first in the SAC in man-up conversion rate (59.1%), and second in all of DII in the category.
