SPARTANBURG, S.C. – After fantastic opening rounds by freshman Noelia Adkins (Bristol, Tenn.) and sophomore Julia Järvholm (Umea, Sweden), the Newberry College women's golf team currently sits in second place all alone at the Spring Converse Invite at Carolina Country Club.
Both Adkins and Järvholm were able to shoot an one-over 73 the kick-off the tournament as both ladies sit in a tie for second on the individual leader board. Sophomore Ida Hansen (Oerebro, Sweden) was right behind them as she shot an opening round of 78 and currently sits in a tie for 14th in the field.
Freshman Nicole Strydom (Boksburg, Z.A.) currently sits tied for 18th on the leader board as she was able to turn in an 80 in the first round on Monday. Junior Sofia Liden (Uppsala, Sweden) rounded out the day for the Wolves as she carded an opening round 84, sitting in a tie for 35th.
The Wolves return to the links tomorrow morning as they wrap up action at the Converse Spring Invite.
