NEWBERRY, S.C.- The Wolves (7-17, 5-10 SAC) fell to the Pioneers of Tusculum University (17-6, 13-3 SAC) this evening 3-0 in Eleazer Arena.  

The Wolves battled with the Pioneers defensively with 66 digs to their 73. Four Wolves scored double digit digs against the Pioneers.  

The Wolves went fighting in the first set keeping the score close throughout with multiple ties in the set. Newberry went on small runs to keep them in the set, at the kills from Madison Watson and Hall put them up 16-15. The Wolves fought hard but dropped the first set 25-21.  

The Wolves started the second set up 2-0, they kept the score close in the beginning. Shaffer tagged three kills to put the Wolves close with the Pioneers at 13-10. The Pioneers took the second and third set 25-18. 

The Wolves battled late in the third set, pulling it to a four-point set behind four kills from Shaffer. But the Pioneers pulled away to take set three 25-18 and the match 3-0.  

Game Leaders 

Samantha Shaffer led the Wolves offensively with 10 kills right behind her, Taylor Hall with nine. Four Wolves tagged double digit digs for the contest with Hall leading the pack with 16 digs, Olivia Bradley and Kannyn Boyd both with 13, and Annie Dill with 10 for the evening.
