Scouting the Wolves:
•    Newberry enters tonight's matchup at 0-1 after falling to Lander on the road in the season opener on Sunday.
•    In that game, Jalen Johnson led the Wolves in points (14) and rebounds (9) on 5-of-11 shooting, including 4 of 9 from 3-point range.
•    Malik Joseph also shot 5 of 11 from the floor, including a pair of 3s to finish with 12 points and a team-high four assists.
•    The Wolves were able to grab 12 offensive rebounds in the game, which translated to 16 second-chance points.

Scouting the Valkyries:
•    Converse opened the season with a pair of wins last weekend over Mars Hill (80-62) and Wingate (84-72) to start 2-0.
•    In the game against Wingate on Saturday, Uzziah Dawkins shot 11 of 14 from the field, making 3 3-pointers to finish with a team-high 29 points.
•    CJ Jamison made all five of his shots – four of which were from 3-point range – to score 14 points to go along with seven rebounds.
•    Also scoring in double-figures were Edoardo Buffo (14) and Joel Pullen (11).
