GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Newberry College wrestling team has been picked at number two in the Conference Carolinas Preseason Coaches' poll announced this morning. The Wolves received 151 points along with one first place vote in the poll. The poll was voted on by the league's coaches.
Lander was picked as the season favorite receiving 169 points and 13 first place votes. In third place was UNC Pembroke with 145 points, Mount Olive was in fourth receiving 136 votes, and rounding out the top five was King, who received 119 points.

Zach Shupp, and
John Parker Jr. were selected to the Conference Carolina Wrestlers to Watch. Moore was a 2023 NCAA All-American, NCAA Super Region II Champion, All-South Atlantic Conference Carolinas Second Team, and NWCA Scholar All-American. Shupp was a 2023 NCAA Championship Qualifier, NWCA Scholar All-American, and a 2021 NCAA Championship Qualifier. Parker Jr. was a 2023 NWCA Scholar All-American.
