NEWBERRY – Wednesday's Holiday Hoops Extravaganza basketball doubleheader against Anderson will be a festive atmosphere for fans at Eleazer Arena as Newberry plays its final home games until January 4.
The game will feature a toy drive benefitting Toys For Tots and a pet food drive for Newberry County Animal Care and Control. Fans donating toys or pet food will be admitted free of charge.
All fans are asked to wear festive attire, with the most festive receiving a prize. Holiday-themed music will be played during breaks in the action and Santa's helpers will be all around.
The women's game will tip off at 5:30 p.m., half an hour earlier than South Atlantic Conference doubleheaders in previous years, as the league begins an altered scheduling format in 2019-20. Anderson's women's team is ranked as high as 12th nationally and leads the latest D2SIDA Southeast Region Poll. The men's contest features half of the four teams deadlocked at 1-2 in the conference standings as the Wolves host head coach
Jason Taylor's former team.
