ANDERSON - With several Wolves in the top 20 on Day Two of The South Atlantic Conference, Newberry battled up four spots to position themselves in second place.
Carlos Leandro led the way with an outright fifth place and Round Two score of 72. Leandro finished even for the day while going one under on both the front and back nine with a total of 144. He is also in a tie for fifth in par five scoring with a 4.25, three under.
Spencer Skiff enjoyed a five-stroke improvement nabbing a 71 on the day, increasing his total to 147 while going three over. On the front nine, Skiff found himself at two under with two birdies on the second and fourth holes. On the back nine, he nabbed one on the tenth hole.
Ben Thompson solidified himself in the top 20 with a tie for 12th. His battle back into contention with his Day Two finish of 72 netted his total a 149, going five over. He shot two birdies today and also leads the tournament in pars.
Rob Cull shot a 76 which was two strokes better than his Day One score of 78, making his total 154. In a two-way tie for 45,
Harry Bolton has a total score of 160 going 16 over.
As a team Newberry shot a 290 and improved 12 strokes from yesterday placing them one stroke off of conference foe Carson-Newman who paced a 15 over with a Round Two score of 293. The two teams are separated by only one shot with the Eagles edging the Wolves 591 and 592 respectively.
