Lincoln Memorial captures 14-2 win over Newberry

The Wolves take on Mars Hill on April 21 at 7 p.m.

Harrogate, Tenn. – Newberry met Lincoln Memorial in a South Atlantic Conference contest on Saturday afternoon. The Railsplitters' held the upper hand on the offensive end, giving them the 14-2 edge.  
           

The Wolves (4-10, 0-7 SAC) kept the game within reach throughout the first half. Andrew Briones found a slashing Stone Boone, to make it an even slate. Although the Railsplitters' (12-3, 6-2 SAC) had a 16-5 edge in shots, Newberry was able to hold Lincoln Memorial to just two goals in the second period.
 

Lincoln Memorial would come alive in the second half, scoring the next ten goals in the contest. The Wolves would not be able to strike again until the three minute mark in the fourth period by Belton Bryan. The Railsplitters' Chris Tucker would conclude the game with two consecutive goals in the last minute of the game.  
 

Newberry was limited to 21 shots throughout the contest, with 11 of them being on target. , Goalie Erick Szurley battled in the net collecting 16 saves in the contest.
 
 
The Wolves will end the regular season on April 21 against Mars Hill at Setzler Field.
