VALDOSTA, Ga. – Newberry's outright win at The Southeastern on Tuesday over No. 1 ranked West Florida gave the Wolves their fifth tournament triumph on the season.

The Round Three, five-over 293 allowed Newberry to best the all-time program record for wins that stood at four. This squad has eclipsed the 2010-11 team who set that record and also went on finish fifth in the nation at the NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championships. Finishing the tournament with a team score of 868, No. 11 ranked Newberry beat out all of the top 10 Golfstat ranked teams in attendance. This tournament victory is a little sweeter as the 14 teams in the top 25, including 13 among the nation's best 19, were competitors at The Southeastern. The Wolves were led by two who found their way into the top 10 to finish the tournament, in Carlos Leandro and Spencer Skiff.

Leandro concluded The Southeastern in third place at one under with a final round score of 71. His 211 total is his second top five finish of the season. He has led the Wolves to another tournament win with a par on the final hole for the second consecutive week. 

In a three-way tie for sixth, Skiff managed to notch his 11th top 10 finish while going two over at 74. He had several great holes, swinging pars on the 4th, 12th, and 16th holes. 

Ben Thompson finished just shy of the top 20, in a four-way tie for the 23rd spot. Thompson's two stroke improved final round saw him conclude this tournament with a 221.

Rob Cull and Harry Bolton finished The Southeastern tied and at 12 over. Cull's final round saw him go nine over par at 81. Bolton wrapped up the tournament at 74 going two over.

These two also helped Newberry lead the tournament in birdies and eagles. Leandro's three eagles were the total for the Wolves. Skiff tallied 14 of Newberry's 47 birdies at The Southeastern.  

The NCAA Division II National Preview is the next even up for the Wolves on March 26-27.
