LAST TIME OUT FOR THE WOLVES
The team defeated the Cobras of Coker College 67-60, on Wednesday in their last regular season home game.
At the half, Meg Essex and Shelby Britten led the team in points with eight each. Samara Hill and Kirsten Dunsmore both had two assists while Emily Perry grabbed four rebounds. Samantha Creed tallied two steals, scored five points, one block, and one assist.
For the game, Creed finished strong with a game-high of 22 points. She also had three rebounds, two assists, two blocks and five steals. Essex scored 15 points, grabbed eight boards and had two blocks. Dunsmore led the team in assists with five while she grabbed six boards.
As a team, the Wolves shot 47.2% from the field and 63.2% from the line.
LAST TIME OUT FOR WOLVES & TORNADOS
Earlier in the season, the team defeated picked up their fourth straight win after defeating Brevard College 75-50.
Going into halftime, Nicola Handreck scored eight points, grabbed two boards and dished out two assists. The team shot 75% from the line and 46.2% from the arch. After three quarters of play, Newberry led 59-29. The team shot 84.6% from the line and Samara Hill led the team with 12 points.
For the game, Hill finished with 12 points, four boards, four assists, and one steal. Emily Perry scored 11 points and grabbed six rebounds. The team shot 89.5% from the free throw line and 41.0% from the field.
SCOUTING BREVARD
Brevard College’s women’s basketball team began the final week of the 2015-16 campaign on Wednesday evening against Cason-Newman, losing to the visiting Eagles 74-67.
In the contest, sophomore Whitney DeMoss continued her dominant season with a career-high 15 rebounds. The amount is the fourth-most in Brevard’s NCAA-Era and propels her season average to 8.3, on track to set the record as the highest since Brevard joined the NCAA in 2008 while pushing her career average over six at 6.1.
Carson-Newman created its only double-digit advantage in the fourth period, when a 6-0 run to open up the frame made it 60-50. Lenox ended the rally with a three-point play, sparking a 12-2 run that tied it up at 62-62. Lenox and Wolfe both contributed five points in the rally with Graham chipping in the other two. Carson-Newman countered with a triple and never allowed the royal blue and white to tie it up again.
Brevard won the battle in the paint, outscoring the visitors 26-16, but gave up 30 points off turnovers to the Eagles.

The Wolves await their matchup for the South Atlantic Conference Tournament first round. Newberry will host a quarterfinal game at 7 p.m. Wednesday with an opponent yet to be determined.
