Game One: Newberry 6, Coker 3 (8 innings)
Allison Van Atta (Tallahassee, Fla.) went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and kicked off an eighth inning rally to hand the Wolves the win in the opener.

Newberry did all of its damage in the eighth inning with two outs. Van Atta blooped a run-scoring single down the right field line to give the Wolves the lead. Cassie Harrell (Williamston, N.C.) and Ashlen Ayres (Kennewick, Wash.) snuck singles through the infield to load the bases. Gabby Bedard (Winder, Ga.) brought home a run when she walked and Mallory Gerndt (Burke, Va.) score another pair with a single.

Game Two: Coker 12, Newberry 4 (6 innings)
Two big offensive innings for the Cobras allowed the hosts to pick up the back end of the split.
Newberry took a 1-0 lead in the top of the third inning, as Bedard drove home Ayres with a single after Ayres had forced the issue. With two outs, she walked, stole second and advanced to third on an error to set up the run.
Coker loaded the bases quickly in the bottom of the inning with an error, a walk and a bunt single. An RBI groundout followed by four straight hits plated six runs for the Cobras, as 11 batters came to bat in the inning.

McCourry hit a two-run single to the right-center gap and Van Atta brought home a run with a single. Unfortunately the Wolves would leave the bases loaded with the go-ahead runs on the basepaths.
