SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. - On a brutally chilly day, the Newberry Wolves shot one of the day's best rounds to finish the 2014 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Championship in a tie for third place at the Sevierville Golf Club's Highlands Course.

Newberry finished the three-round tournament with a final score of 1,015 (340-331-344, +151), tying the Wolves with Carson-Newman for third in the team race. Coker was two strokes ahead of that duo at +149 and Wingate won the title at +132.

Three Wolves earned second team all-tournament honors, led by Sophia Opitz (Landskrona, Sweden), who finished in seventh at 250 (+34) after an 86 Tuesday.

Eline Askeland (Oslo, Norway) and Marianna Monaco (Yonkers, N.Y.) finished in 10th at 252 (+36). Monaco shot a team-best 79 on the day, one of only three players to break 80 in the final round.

Korey Coleman (Stanford, Ky.) finished in 28th with a 263 (+47), while Annabelle Dallery (Sumter, S.C.) shot a 95 in her final round.

The Wolves' season as a team will come to a close, as Newberry waits to see if an individual player will qualify for the NCAA regionals.
