ANDERSON - The Newberry softball team was swept on the road by the Anderson Trojans on Saturday at Smethers Field in South Atlantic Conference play.
Sophomore Darrian Jamison (Versailles, Ky.) homered in game two of the doubleheader as the Wolves fell 11-2 in game one and 5-3 in the second game.
Newberry falls to 15-13 on the season and 2-4 in conference, while the Trojans improve to 23-7 overall and 3-3 in the SAC.
The Wolves are scheduled to play at home on Sunday against King, with a scheduled first pitch of 2 p.m.
Game One: Anderson 11, Newberry 2 (5 inn.)

Senior Jennifer Yancey (Dunwoody, Ga.) and sophomore Casey Nellums (Duluth, Ga.) drove in one run each as the Wolves fell in the opener to Anderson 11-2 in five innings.
Anderson scored 11 runs in four innings, including five off three homers, before the Wolves offense was able to push a pair of runs across the plate.
Newberry opened the fifth inning with freshman Hailey Drawe (Oceanside, Calif.) reaching safely on a throwing error. A single by freshman Madison Tepfenhart (York, S.C.) put runners on first and second for the Wolves.
Another error by the Trojans saw Drawe score as Nellums reached first safely. After Tepfenhart was forced out at third, the Wolves found themselves with runners on first and second with one out in the inning.
A fly out proved to be the second out of the inning, but was followed by an infield single by Yancey, which would plate Nellums.
Game Two: Anderson 5, Newberry 3

Jamison homered for Newberry, while junior Brittany Middleton (Lizella, Ga.) struck out four in the Wolves' 5-3 game two loss to the Trojans.
After two scoreless innings, the Trojans struck first in the third on a two-run homer. Back-to-back solo home runs in the fifth gave Anderson a 4-0 lead entering the top of the sixth inning.
The Wolves opened the sixth with an infield single by senior Katie Capobianco (Coconut Creek, Fla.). A fielder's choice erased Capobianco from the base paths, but saw junior Ashlen Ayres (Kennewick , Wash.) take her place at first. A single and another fielder's choice saw Newberry with runners on the corners and two outs in the frame. Jamison launched a three-run homer to left before inning was wrapped up to cut the Trojans' lead to one run.
Anderson plated a final run in the top of the sixth, before Newberry was put down in order in the top of the seventh.
