Leaving five runners stranded on base came back to haunt the Wolves, as North Greenville scored two in seven innings of play to take game one from the home side.

The Crusaders were able to score a single run in the second when Morgan Roach homered to left field. Five innings later, the Crusaders were able to add one more off of three hits.

The Wolves threatened in the bottom of the fourth, with two outs sophomore Casey Nellums (Duluth, Ga.) reached on an error to the shortstop. Senior Leah Hosking (Williamston, Mich.) earned the only hit of the game by singling to right field. A fielder's choice ended the inning and the Wolves chances of scoring.

Junior Madison Burnett (Pickens, S.C.) took the loss after seven complete innings pitched only allowing five hits.

Game Two: North Greenville 5, Newberry 1
[Box Score]

A double from sophomore Darrian Jamison (Versailles, Ky.) was not enough for the Wolves, as Newberry fell 5-1 in the second game of Wednesday afternoon's doubleheader.

North Greenville scored first, taking advantage of a triple from pitcher Sarah Armstrong. The Crusaders pulled away in fourth when Tori Freedman hit a two run home run to deep center field.

Junior Gabby Bedard (Winder, Ga.) led off the bottom of the sixth with a bunt down the first base line. Hosking would reach on a throwing error by the second baseman, scoring Bedard.

The Wolves would pull no closer, however, as Newberry left two on base in the bottom of the seventh.

Junior Brittany Middleton (Lizella, Ga.) suffered her first loss of the season falling to 6-1.
