No. 2 Wolves open #SR2Duals with 38-13 win over Tiffin

NEWBERRY - The No. 2 ranked Newberry Wolves opened the 2014 Super Region Two Duals with a resounding 38-13 win over the Tiffin Dragons, thanks to four pins in the dual.

Newberry moves to 12-1 on the season and duals No. 10 Indianapolis in the next session.

Jeff Vesta (Manhattan, Kan.) needed only 41 seconds to get a pin and move into the national lead in that category at 125 lbs. Trung Duong (Lynchburg, Va.) also earned a first period pin at 133 lbs. to push the Wolves' lead to 12-0.

B.J. Young (Jackson, N.J.) dominated his match at 141 lbs. on the way to a 16-0 technical fall, making it a 17-0 lead. After dropping the 149 lbs. and 157 lbs. bouts, the Wolves responded with a decision from Blake Ridenour (Maryville, Tenn.) at 165 lbs. and a forfeit win for Joe Pittman (Forsyth, Ga.) at 174 lbs.

Jared Holliday (Burlington, N.J.) had a resounding pin at 184 lbs. and Joey Grisko (Gloucester Township, N.J.) earned a pin in the second period of the 197 lbs. to put an exclamation point on the win.
