NEWBERRY, S.C. - Sophomore Romina Adum was perfect on Monday afternoon at the Cannon Tennis Courts as Adum and the Newberry women's tennis team swept Lees-McRae 9-0 in the Wolves third straight victory.

Newberry (5-3) opened the afternoon with a pair of 8-1 victories in doubles competition. At No. 1 doubles sophomores Ariel Strong (Casatt, S.C.) and Susana Aguirre (Guayaquil, Ecuador) improved to 7-1 in doubles action with an 8-1 win over Lyndsay Peagram and Samantha Wohlers.

Adum (Guayaquil, Ecuador) and partner Marina Ziehe (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) picked up an 8-1 win of their own at No. 2 doubles.

Newberry earned the final doubles point and two singles points via default victories against the four member Lees-McRae Bobcats (0-2).

In singles action, Strong and Aguirre opened the afternoon with a pair of straight set victories. Ziehe earned a victory in two sets at No. 4, while Adum shutout Kelsey Hiatt with a pair of 6-0 victories at No. 3 singles.

Newberry returns to Cannon Tennis Courts tomorrow afternoon at 3 p.m., when the Wolves host Converse College.
