MEISENHEIMER, N.C. -  Pfeiffer defeated visiting Newberry College 2-1 in a men's soccer game played on October 2, 2003. Newberry led 1-0 on a goal by Shawn Liesch at the 28:00 minute mark. Pfeiffer came back to tie the game 1-1 on a goal by Tom Funk at the 38:00 minute mark off an assist by David Miller. Pfeiffer's Tom Funk scored the winning goal for Pfeiffer at the 66:00 minute mark off another assist by David Miller.

Pfeiffer took 22 shots for the game. Newberry had 16 shots. Pfeiffer goalie Nick Drye had 7 saves in goal. Newberry goalie Tim Seibert had 9 saves in goal.

With the win, Pfeiffer improved to 5-4-1 overall and remained 4-1-1 in the CVAC. Newberry is now 6-5 overall and 1-3 in the SAC. Pfeiffer will play again on Saturday October 4th at Longwood University.
