Tmusic and Curtis Lead Wolves Past Catawba

SALISBURY, N.C. – The Newberry men's soccer team put together a strong all-around performance on Saturday night, earning a 2–0 road win over Catawba at Frock Field

Filip Tmusic opened the scoring in the 19th minute, notching his first goal of the season to give the Wolves the early advantage. Newberry maintained control throughout the half, limiting Catawba to just a pair of shots on goal.

Catawba went down to 10 men following a red card in the 53rd minute, and the Wolves made sure to capitalize. Ben Curtis doubled the lead in the 87th minute with his third goal of the year, sealing the victory for Newberry.

Goalkeeper Charlie Clark recorded two saves, while the Wolves held a 7–2 edge in shots on goal and a 6–4 advantage in corner kicks.

The win moves Newberry to 6-3-4 overall and 2-3-4 in South Atlantic Conference play. With the result, the Wolves clinch their first winning season since 2019 and now sit tied for sixth in the SAC standings with one match remaining. The top eight teams in the league advance to the SAC Tournament.
