Danny Crotts joins the Newberry College wrestling staff as assistant coach and director of operations for the 2014-15 season.
Crotts has been a high school and club coach in the Carolinas, including a stint White Knoll HS in Lexington last season. He was at North Davidson HS in Lexington, N.C., from 2006-13, also coaching track.
As a head and assistant coach in the high school ranks, he coached 13 state champion wrestlers, four state runners-up, five third placers, three fifth placers and a pair of sixth placers. Crotts also has extensive experience in running large tournaments, having directed the Junior, freshman and middle school divisions of the National High School Coaches Association National Championships.
He also assists with the NHSCA National Duals, the Super 32 Challenge and is on the seeding committee for the Journeymen Classic Tournament.
Crotts has a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Appalachian State University in 1999 and also completed his business education license at North Carolina A&T University in 2006.
