Head strength coach Erik Schwager announced the hiring of Deandra Tsaffaras as a strength and conditioning assistant in the summer of 2019.
Tsaffaras comes to Newberry from South Atlantic Conference rival Anderson, where she completed her undergraduate degree in kinesiology this past May. Her areas of concentration were children's sport and wellness, nutrition, sports rehab and injury prevention, applied exercise physiology and neuromuscular physiology. This fall will mark her first official tenure in the area of strength and conditioning.
A former multi event peformer in track and field, she currently resides in Greenville.
