Biography
Zulay Castaneda was born in Panamá City, Panama where she started playing tennis at the age of 8. At 16 years old, she was ranked #715 in Junior ITF. During her first years in college, she reached the NJCAA singles ranking of No. 8 during the 2018-19 season playing for ASA College (Miami). During the 2019-20 season, Zulay and her team won the NJCAA National Championship, and she received All-American honors in singles and doubles. In 2020-21, she played at Southeastern Oklahoma State where she played #1 in the line up for both singles and doubles and earned first team all-conference in singles. Zulay also represents Panama at the Federation Cup, and she boasts a current UTR rating of 8.35.
