Coach Tony enters his 19th season as a girls lacrosse/strength and conditioning coach. His coaching career began in Florida, where he coached at Park Vista HS, LaxManiax Club and SoFla. Tony was instrumental in helping to develop one of South Florida's most successful girls-only lacrosse tournaments, The Florida Draw. Upon moving to South Carolina 9 years ago, Tony became the assistant coach at Chapin High School, Summit Lacrosse (Denver, CO) and the Rapids. Mathis has left his mark on Chapin’s lacrosse program- having players collecting awards ranging from Lower State Player of the Year to being named 1st Team All-State. After winning their region every year, Mathis added State Champion to his resume in 2019 and again in 2024. In 2022 and most recently in 2024, Tony was awarded the Lower State Assistant Coach of the Year. It's been Tony's honor to coach and mentor over 100 female athletes to achieve their dream of playing at the collegiate level - including numerous NCAA appearances and 1 National Championship.Â
