James Anderson enters his second season on the staff as the Equipment and Assistant Coach for Running Backs. Anderson runs day-to-day operations of the equipment room and locker room along with setting up, and tearing down Setzler Field for practices and games. Anderson oversees the scout teams for practices during the season.
From 2021-22 Anderson helped coach two-time All-American Mario Anderson who became third all-time in school history with 3,301 career rushing yards.Â
Before becoming an assistant at Newberry, Anderson coached the running backs for Clinton High School for the 2016 and 17 seasons.
Before becoming a coach, Anderson was a three-year starter at Fullback for the Wolves from 2011-15 where he became a Gray stripe award winner in 2015. Anderson went on to get his bachelor's in Sports Management with a minor in business at Newberry
