NEWBERRY, S.C. – Four members of the Newberry College men's golf program have been recognized for their excellence in the classroom and on the course, earning 2025-26 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar honors from the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).
Representing the Wolves on this year's list are Javier Borrego Martin, Josh Greig, Jesper Gruendemann, and Christian Kuehl.
The prestigious award recognizes student-athletes who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement while competing at a high level during the collegiate golf season.
To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar recognition, NCAA Division II student-athletes must be academically classified as sophomores, juniors, or seniors, participate in at least 50 percent of their team's competitive rounds, maintain a stroke average below 78.0, and hold a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. Recipients must also be of high moral character and remain in good standing at their respective institutions.
The recognition reflects the continued commitment of the Newberry men's golf program to success both in competition and in the classroom. The quartet joins an elite group of NCAA Division II golfers honored by the GCAA for balancing academic excellence with athletic achievement.
