NEWBERRY, S.C. – Newberry College wrestler John Parker has been named to the 2025-26 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America® Men's At-Large Second Team, becoming the first student-athlete in Newberry College history to earn CSC Academic All-America® honors three times.

Parker's latest national honor adds another milestone to one of the most accomplished academic and athletic careers in Newberry Athletics history. The three-time Academic All-America® selection continues to set the standard for excellence in the classroom and on the mat, combining elite academic achievement with outstanding competitive success.

The CSC Academic All-America® program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined accomplishments athletically and academically. Academic All-America® honorees are selected from the CSC Academic All-District® teams and voted on by College Sports Communicators members nationwide.

Parker has been one of the premier wrestlers in NCAA Division II throughout his career. During the 2025-26 season, he continued to excel while maintaining the academic excellence that has made him one of the nation's top scholar-athletes. His selection to the Academic All-America® Second Team marks his third career appearance on the prestigious national team, a first for any student-athlete in Newberry College history.
