NEWBERRY, S.C. – The Newberry College women's volleyball program has been recognized for its excellence in the classroom, earning the 2025-26 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award.

The award recognizes volleyball programs that maintain exceptional academic success throughout the academic year. To qualify, teams must achieve a cumulative team grade point average of at least 3.30 during the 2025-26 academic year. The AVCA Team Academic Award has celebrated academic excellence in volleyball programs across all levels of competition for more than three decades.

Newberry was among the NCAA Division II programs honored by the AVCA, highlighting the Wolves' commitment to success both in competition and in the classroom.

The honor adds to another successful academic year for Newberry Athletics, as Wolves student-athletes continued to excel in the classroom while representing the College in competition.

The AVCA Team Academic Award, established in 1993, honors collegiate and high school volleyball programs that demonstrate a sustained commitment to academic achievement by maintaining one of the nation's top team grade point averages.
