NEWBERRY, S.C. – The Newberry College Lettermen's Club is proud to announce the induction of six distinguished former student-athletes and coaches into the Newberry College Athletics Hall of Fame as part of the 2026 class. The group includes Chris Miller (Football), Zeb Reid (Men's Basketball), KeriAnn Barlage Quarles (Women's Lacrosse), Rashaad Carter (Men's Basketball), Tim Singleton (Football), and Cara Coleman-Jones (Women's Volleyball).
The Hall of Fame recognizes individuals whose achievements have left a lasting impact on Newberry Athletics through excellence in competition, leadership, and service to their respective sports and communities.
Chris Miller ('81) – Football
A standout performer on the football field, Chris Miller earned All-Conference Second Team honors in both 1979 and 1980 while also being named All-NAIA District 6 in consecutive seasons. Following his playing career, Miller built an extraordinary legacy as a high school football coach, compiling a 170-76 career record and leading his teams to five state championships, including three consecutive titles at Byrnes High School. His contributions to the sport have been recognized with induction into the South Carolina Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2020 and the South Carolina Athletic Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2024.
Zeb Reid ('02) – Men's Basketball
One of the most accomplished shooters in program history, Zeb Reid ranks sixth all-time in career three-point field goals made and third in career three-point percentage. He is also tied for sixth in school history for three-pointers made in a single game. Reid led the conference in three-point field goals during the 1998-99 season and earned Kodak Academic All-America honors that same year. A four-time South Atlantic Conference Academic Honor Roll selection, Reid continued to serve Newberry long after graduation, including two years as president of the Lettermen's Club and as the founder of the Newberry College Men's Basketball Alumni Association.
KeriAnn Barlage Quarles ('15) – Women's Lacrosse
KeriAnn Barlage Quarles established herself as one of the premier players in Newberry women's lacrosse history. The 2014 South Atlantic Conference Player of the Year and First Team All-SAC selection remains among the program's leaders in several statistical categories. She ranks third and fifth all-time for goals scored in a season, seventh in points scored in a season, sixth in ground balls in a season, and second in caused turnovers in a season. Her dominant performances helped elevate the Wolves' women's lacrosse program during her career.
Rashaad Carter ('04) – Men's Basketball
Rashaad Carter enjoyed a stellar basketball career that saw him earn All-SAC Freshman Team honors in 2001 before becoming a two-time First Team All-SAC selection in 2003 and 2004. He was named Newberry College Male Athlete of the Year in 2004 and earned All-SAC Tournament Team recognition that same season. Carter remains tied for sixth in program history for field goals made in a single game. Following his collegiate career, he continued his success professionally, playing for BC Weissenhorn in Germany, where he averaged 21.8 points per game.
Tim Singleton ('92) – Football
Among the most versatile offensive players in Newberry football history, Tim Singleton ranks prominently throughout the program's record book. He sits ninth all-time in career passing yards (3,665), eighth in career completions (309), and 10th in career passing touchdowns (22). Singleton also ranks sixth in career total offense with 5,078 yards and is tied for fifth in program history with five 100-yard rushing games. His name appears multiple times among Newberry's single-game and single-season passing and rushing records, highlighting his dynamic impact on the Wolves' offense.
Cara Coleman-Jones ('08) – Women's Volleyball
Cara Coleman-Jones was one of the pioneers of Newberry volleyball's rise and became the program's first student-athlete to record 1,000 career kills. She currently ranks fifth all-time in career kills, third in career blocks, third in career aces, and fourth in career points scored. Coleman-Jones remains the program leader in both career and single-season solo blocks and ranks second in single-season total blocks. Her accomplishments earned her a place on the All-SAC Freshman Team in 2004, All-SAC Second Team honors in 2005, and recognition as an ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District selection.
The six inductees will be formally recognized during Newberry College's Athletics Hall of Fame festivities later this year. Their accomplishments represent the tradition of excellence that has defined Newberry Athletics for generations and continue to inspire current and future Wolves.
