FLORENCE, SC – Newberry held off a late Mount Olive rally to secure a 10–9 victory Tuesday afternoon at Carolina Bank Field, scoring in six different innings and collecting 13 hits in the nonconference win.

The Wolves jumped out early with three runs in both the first and second innings and added runs in the eighth and ninth to help seal the one-run victory.

Jomar Lugo led the Wolves offensively with a 4-for-6 performance, scoring three times and driving in two runs, while Nick Foster added three hits and three RBIs. Luke Compton connected on a home run and scored three times, and Logan Busenlehner contributed two hits and two RBIs.

On the mound, Keillor Osbon earned the win with 1.2 scoreless innings in relief, closing out the final frames to secure the victory.

The Wolves look to carry the momentum into Friday when they begin their series with Wingate at 4pm.
