NEWBERRY, S.C. — The Newberry College men's lacrosse team is set to host Lenoir-Rhyne in a highly anticipated conference semifinal matchup on Wednesday, April 29 at 7 P.M.
The Wolves enter the contest with an impressive 11-4 overall record, including a 7-2 mark in conference play. Newberry has been especially strong on its home turf this season, posting a 5-1 record in front of its fans.
Earlier this season, Newberry earned a statement victory over Lenoir-Rhyne on the road, edging the Bears 16-15 in a thrilling contest that came down to the final minute. The win marked a significant milestone for the Wolves, as it was their first victory over Lenoir-Rhyne in 10 meetings.
Regionally, the matchup features two highly regarded programs, with Newberry currently ranked 12th in the southern region and Lenoir-Rhyne holding the fourth spot. The semifinal clash promises to be another tightly contested battle between the two teams as they vie for a spot in the conference championship.
