Box Score Florence, S.C. - The Wolves hit the road for some Tuesday afternoon action, taking on Mount Olive for the final time this season. After struggling to get on the board for the first seven innings, Newberry mustered together an impressive three-run eighth inning to pull ahead and claim their 25th win of the season.
The Trojans scored first thanks to an RBI single in the second inning, but
Mason Brady took the mound in the third inning and gave the Wolves three scoreless innings. In the bottom of the sixth, a solo shot by Mount Olive put them ahead, 2-0.Â

Bryson Nuckols drew back-to-back walks with one out in the bottom of the eighth to begin the comeback, then
Zane McLendon found space down the left field line for an RBI double that brought home both runners and tied the game at 2.
Cooper Raines came up to bat next as a pinch hitter and did exactly what he was subbed on to do, as he knocked an RBI double down the left field line as well, bringing home McLendon and taking the lead.Â
After going 3 up, 3 down in the 8th,
Anthony Plotkin allowed a walk to the leadoff hitter in the top of the ninth before shutting down the final three batters and earning the victory for the Wolves.Â
Newberry improves to 25-22 and 17-13 in the SAC, and will wrap up their season on the road with a three-game series against Mars Hill this weekend.Â
