This week's South Carolina Army National Guard Newberry College Players of the Week are sophomore goalkeeper Presley Green (Marmora, NJ) and senior sprinter Tavarian Thompson (North Charleston).
 
Green led the Wolves to a pair of wins over Catawba and Tusculum to secure the #5 seed in the upcoming SAC Women's Lacrosse Postseason Tournament.  She made 20 saves including 14 in the Senior Day 14-6 win over Tusculum.  Her 14 saves marked the fourth time she registered double-digit saves in a game, but the first time she posted a victory.  Green leads the South Atlantic Conference in save percentage at .491 and ranks third in saves (111) and fourth in goals per game (.956).
 
Thompson won the 400-meter dash at the South Carolina State Sharonda Coleman-Singleton Classic.  Thompson's time of 47.94 was a season best and is the seventh fastest in the South Atlantic Conference this season.  He ran the second leg on the Wolves 4 x 400-meter relay team that finished fourth at the 2026 SAC Indoor Championships and is running second on the 4 x 400-meter outdoor relay team that is currently ranked sixth.
