NEWBERRY, SC – Newberry fell in straight sets to Tusculum (25–12, 25–13, 25–20) Tuesday evening at Eleazer Arena. The Wolves showed improvement as the match progressed, turning in their strongest offensive stretch in the third set, but were unable to overcome an efficient Tusculum attack.
Lucas Nieves led Newberry with 11 kills while hitting .409, and Ignacio Rodriguez added six kills on a .444 hitting percentage. Greyson Crumpton finished with 13 assists, while Tibulo Smith contributed nine assists and a service ace to pace the Wolves' offensive effort.
With the loss, the Wolves move to 5-12 overall and look ahead to their next match vs. Catawba at home on Friday at 6pm.
