NEWBERRY, S.C. — Newberry College defender
Skylar Duval-Lewis has been named the
South Atlantic Conference Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week following a standout performance across two games.
Duval-Lewis anchored the Wolves' defensive unit, totaling six ground balls, four caused turnovers, and one draw control. In Newberry's 19–4 win over Mars Hill University, she recorded five ground balls and four caused turnovers, helping limit the Lions' offensive opportunities. She added another ground ball in Newberry's matchup with Flagler College, rounding out a week of exceptional defensive play. Her efforts were key in securing Newberry's conference victory, providing the defensive presence that allowed the Wolves to control the pace and maintain dominance on both ends of the field.
Newberry will return to Setzler Field on Wednesday, March 18, to face Coker University at 7 p.m.
